Is Your Hair Weighing You Down?

If your hair has been looking dull and lifeless lately, you may want to continue reading because I am going to tell you about 3 tips that can bring your hair back to life.

1.  Use a Clarifying Shampoo – Over time, hair styling products can leave a residue on your hair, which weighs it down. Using a clarifying shampoo removes product build up and gives your hair a fresh start. For most people, I recommend using this type of shampoo about every other week, but you might need to adjust it based on how many hair products you use. Remember to rinse it out thoroughly and use a hydrating conditioner to lock in the moisture. My favorite clarifying shampoo is the Redken Hair Cleansing Cream.

2.  Use a Heat Protectant – Using heated hair styling tools such as a blow dryer, flat iron or curling iron can be very damaging to you hair, even causing split ends. Be sure to use a heat protectant before you use any hot tools to protect your hair from the heat. My favorite heat protectant is It’s a Ten Miracle Leave-In Product.

3.  Adjust Your Diet – If your hair has lost its lustre, try eating foods that are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which provide nourishment to the hair, making it strong and healthy. These fatty acids are found in many cold water fish (salmon) as well as avocados, seeds (pumpkin) and nuts (almonds).

When all else fails, get a haircut!  Ask your stylist to snip off the dead ends and add a few more layers to give your hair more bounce and movement.
